Legacy & Profit Sale Weekend Recap
The 2027 North Texas Sale Weekend was a busy one for Pond Hill Performance Horses. The weekend concluded with 7 horses sold, 10 horses purchased, and the Class of 2027 taking shape.
Starting off the weekend with Friday Night's 1st Ever Designer Sale, PHPH raised, The One U Want commanded a price of $82,500 for owner Felix Garcia.
The One U Want is by Inferno 66 and is the first foal out of Want U To Want Me.
"Want U To Want Me is an absolute powerhouse and one of the top broodmares in our barn. Felix [Garcia] has been a great friend and customer and we're so happy for him that the first foal out of his mare sold so well on a public stage," said Kaci O'Rourke. "The Designer Sale was great for our industry. It's great to see people so enthusiastic about the future of reining."
The following day continued the momentum with PHPH representing the high selling yearling of the day, Spookin In Gold, for Jennifer Anderson, with a price tag of $75,000.
"This colt was another one raised in our program and out of PHPH client mare, She Whiz Shiney. He's going to a great program with Cade McCutcheon. Jennifer Anderson has always had a major part in the planning and execution of the Legacy Sale, so it feels very full circle to have her colt be the high selling yearling on Saturday," Kaci said.
In total, Pond Hill horses brought in $346,500, with an average of $49,500. Sales results as follows:

Hip 243: Spookin In Gold - $75,000
Hip 249: FR Down Right Ruf - $67,000 Hip 270: DV Downrightaspark - $25,000
Hip 294: DV Whata Smokin Rose - $11,000
Hip 298: Magic Voodoo Shine - $40,000
"The horses sold great, many of which are going to top Level 4 programs, which we will be following their success. We're excited to come back next year with some great stock, and hopefully have another consignment to the Designer Sale."
You can't get the best team if you don't recruit, and the PHPH team picked up some top draft picks throughout the sales. Kicking off with Legacy Designer Sale Hips 5 and 12 - two spectacular colts.
Hip 12 in The Legacy Designer Sale is Must B Dreaming, by Gunnatrashya and out of Stop Like A Dream, consigned by Toyon Ranch and purchased by PHPH / Hostetler Partnership
Hip 5 in The Legacy Designer Sale is Im Right Again, by Gunner Dun It Again out of All The Right Motion, consigned by Deleu Ranch and purchased by Peter & Courtney Morgan.
Friday also hosted the Pro Fit Premiere Sale, hosted by Pro Fit Equine. PHPH picked up 3 yearlings out of an elite group of 86 horses.
Hip 4024 in the Premiere Sale is Clasico a stricking filly by Hall of Fame Sire Gunner and out of Shiney Enterprise. She was consigned by Diane Mesmer and purchased by Peter & Courtney Morgan.
Hip 4051 in the Premiere Sale is Mister Dun It Again. This colt is by Gunner Dun It Again and out of Miss Sunshine Annie, consigned by Trey Walker and purchased by Caroline Gute.
Hip 4057 in the Premiere Sale is All Bettss On Her, by All Bettss Are Off and out of Shine Yer Pistol. She was consigned by Buckshot Farms and purchased by Pond Hill Performance Horses.
Continuing on to a busy Saturday back at the Legacy Sale, where along with selling eight horses, PHPH picked up several more.
Hip 275 is Special Night Gunner, yearling colt by Gunners Special Nite and out of Shessopretty (out of Prettywhizprettydoes), Hip 275 was sold by Clint Haverty and purchased by PHPH / Hostetler Partnership.
Hip 232 is a weanling filly by Mr Farenheit and out of Gunnaoutfoxya, the Dam of SS Gunnafreezeya. This sweet filly was sold by VanDorp Inc and purchased by PHPH / Hostetler Partnership.
Hip 252 is Pale Face Survivor, who herself is in foal to Mr Farenheit. Pale Face Survivor is by Pale Face Dunit and out of Topsail Survivor, Dam of All Nite Partier. She was consigned by Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses and purchased by Lyndal Hostetler.
Wrapping up the weekend with the Pro Fit Mixed Sale, PHPH picked up two more additions.
Hip 5049 is Shooter Down, a yearling colt by Electric Code and out of Designed To Shoot. Consigned by Lorenzo Lotti, this colt was purchased by Pond Hill Performance Horses.
Hip 5217 is a 2027 Embryo by Picture Perrfect and out of Slide By Spook, expected in January, consigned by Lorenzo Lotti, and purchased by Pond Hill Performance Horses.
"This was a great weekend for our business, our customers, and our future. We worked very hard to pick horses that suited our program and our goals - and I think we were successful at that. Each year we really put a lot of thought into the acquiring and taking on the horses that make up our two year old class. A part from these purchases, we are seeing the yearlings from our customers come in to training, and the Class of 2027 looks like a very promising group. It's rewarding to see our own and our customer's dedication and planning come to fruition with these prospects. That's what keeps us coming back for more!" Kaci remarks.
